Jam In The Park Jam in the park is an annual event organised by Horsham District council along with regular users of the park and local retailers. It is aimed at raising funds to help maintain the park in the future, and has been a good basis for uniting the community. This years event was on a greater scale than events previous and involved yet a bigger portion of the young community of Horsham. This included a DJ workshop who preformed on the day to a very impressed crowd as well as an opportunity for budding photographers to showcase their talent. The competition itself was split up into disciplines and age categories with competitors from as far away as Portsmouth and London. The main event kicked off with the under thirteen’s who set the high standard that flowed throughout the competition. Big tricks of the day included: Adam (Inline) stalling the guardrail to back flip 360 back into the ramp, Jacob (BMX) with a sprocket to ice to 270 in on the guardrail and Potter (Skateboarder) pulling a transfer from the skinny 6ft quarter pipe into the 5ft mini. Overall the day was a grate success raising a total of £602.54 and bringing together such a wide section of the community.further information can be found on www.horshamskatepark.co.uk . |
